This Privacy Policy explains how InstallPPI (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and protects information in connection with our pay-per-install advertising platform. By using InstallPPI, you agree to the practices described herein.
1. Introduction
InstallPPI operates a pay-per-install (PPI) advertising network that connects website publishers with software advertisers. This Privacy Policy applies to all users of our platform, including visitors to our website, registered publishers, and registered advertisers.
We are committed to protecting your personal information and handling it transparently. If you have any questions about this policy, please contact us at support@installppi.com.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide
- Account registration: Name, email address, company name (if applicable), payment details (PayPal email, Bitcoin wallet address, or bank wire details).
- Profile information: Website URLs, traffic descriptions, and account preferences you enter in your dashboard.
- Communications: Messages you send to us via our contact form, support emails, or other channels.
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Log data: IP addresses, browser type and version, operating system, referring URLs, pages visited, and timestamps.
- Click and install data: Our tracking system records click events and install events generated via publisher tracking links. This includes IP addresses, approximate geographic location (derived from IP), user agent strings, and Hardware IDs (HWIDs) generated by our installer stub.
- Cookies and local storage: Session identifiers, authentication tokens, and preference data stored in your browser.
2.3 Hardware Identification (HWID)
Our installer stub generates a privacy-preserving Hardware ID (HWID) derived from non-personal hardware components (motherboard serial number and CPU ID). This HWID is a one-way hash and cannot be used to identify an individual. It is used solely for anti-fraud purposes — specifically, to enforce cooling periods and prevent duplicate install credits for the same device.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- To operate, maintain, and improve the InstallPPI platform.
- To process publisher payouts and advertiser billing.
- To attribute installs to the correct publisher and offer (our core business function).
- To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and policy violations.
- To send service-related notifications (e.g., payout confirmations, account approvals, policy updates).
- To respond to your support requests and communications.
- To analyze aggregate platform performance and improve our services.
- To comply with applicable laws and legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your data for targeted advertising outside of the InstallPPI platform.
4. Sharing Your Information
We may share your information with:
- Payment processors: To facilitate payouts (e.g., PayPal). Your payment details are transmitted directly to the processor and are not stored in full on our servers.
- Cloud infrastructure providers: We use third-party services for hosting, file storage (e.g., S3-compatible object storage), and database management. These providers are contractually bound to protect data.
- IP intelligence services: We use third-party APIs to classify IP addresses (e.g., detect VPNs, data centers) for anti-fraud screening. We share only the IP address, no personal identifiers.
- Law enforcement / legal process: We may disclose information if required by applicable law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of our users and platform.
Aggregated, de-identified statistics may be shared publicly (e.g., “50,000+ installs delivered”) and cannot reasonably be used to identify individuals.
5. Tracking Technologies
Our platform uses the following tracking technologies:
- Session cookies: Required for authentication. Expire when you close your browser or after an inactivity period.
- Persistent cookies: Used to remember your preferences and keep you logged in across sessions.
- Tracking pixels / redirect URLs: Our click tracking links use server-side redirects and log the click event before delivering the installer file. No third-party tracking pixels are embedded.
You can configure your browser to refuse cookies; however, this will prevent you from logging in to your publisher or advertiser account.
6. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. Specific retention periods:
- Account data: Retained for the life of the account, plus 90 days after account deletion (to allow dispute resolution).
- Click and install logs: Retained for 24 months for audit and fraud-prevention purposes.
- HWID cooling entries: Retained for 90 days from the date of the last install event for the given HWID/offer pair.
- Payment records: Retained for 7 years to comply with financial record-keeping requirements.
7. Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data:
- All data is transmitted over TLS (HTTPS).
- Passwords are hashed using bcrypt with appropriate work factors.
- API keys and secrets are stored encrypted at rest.
- Advertiser installer files are stored in private, access-controlled object storage and served via time-limited signed URLs.
- We conduct periodic security reviews of our platform code.
Despite these measures, no system is completely secure. In the event of a data breach that affects your personal information, we will notify you in accordance with applicable law.
8. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Rectification: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Erasure: Request deletion of your account and associated personal data (subject to legal retention obligations).
- Portability: Request your data in a machine-readable format.
- Objection: Object to certain processing activities.
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at support@installppi.com. We will respond within 30 days.
9. Children's Privacy
InstallPPI is intended for use by adults (18+) and businesses. We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under the age of 18. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a minor, please contact us immediately and we will delete such data promptly.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page and notify registered account holders via email. Your continued use of the platform after such notice constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
