There was a time that people would go hunting for cheap look alike of their favorite accessory brands – the handbags, the belts and the list goes on. Now we see quite a few cheaper look likes in the mobile and tablet space. It seems like copying product designs has become common sight these days. Samsung had started the trend but the likes of Xiaomi and Lenovo have followed suit in the copy-direction.
Now India-based iBall is the latest brand to flaunt similar intentions with its recently launched Slide Brace-X1 which is more than similar to Lenovo’s Yoga tablet series. Yes, it might be cheaper than its original but it looks like a blatant copy in terms of design. Lenovo’s no slouch and the company used a lot of iPhone 6 design language to create its S90 Sisley smartphone.
Coming back to the iBall Slide Brace-X1, this unique tablet sports a 10.1-inch 1280x800p display and a 1.7GHz octa-core CPU with 2GB RAM, offering 16GB expandable storage support. The tablet’s a dual-SIM variety (both GSM), offering voice-calling option and running on Android 4.4 KitKat version.
On the imaging front, however, iBall has the upper hand with a 13MP rear camera (with LED flash) and a 5MP front-facing camera. Other connectivity options like; 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Micro-USB, GPS/ A-GPS, and OTG complete the tablet’s package, loaded up with a big-size 7800 mAh battery which as per the company should last you about 24 hours on single charge.
Priced at Rs 17,999 iBall Slide Brace X1 is playing in a free-wheeling segment right now and if the product ends up being value for money, then keep an on Lenovo to come and spoil iBall’s party (rest assured).
